Covid-19 Update

The Covid-19 virus has had a dramatic effect on our resort business and the Thai tourism industry. Since the first lockdown of March 2020, travelling to Thailand has been difficult for travelers and tourists.

At Amaresa Resort we have been determined to survive this crisis and we have tried our best to review our business processes to cut down on expenses. We have postponed a number of maintenance projects in order to save funds, in order to stay afloat and keep the resort open.

We notice that in the fall of 2021 the travel restrictions are slowly being lifted by the Thai government. Phuket and Koh Samui have initially had the Sandbox programs to receive tourists under certain requirements. After a 7 days quarantine period in a safety and health accredited hotel at either Phuket or Koh Samui, travelers were free to travel the rest of Thailand. The Koh Samui Sandbox scheme was adjusted later, where travelers could spend a part of the 7 day period on a hotel in Koh Phangan as well.

From 1 November, the Thai government has initiated the ‘Test & Go’ Scheme, allowing travelers exemption from a quarantine period, under certain conditions. This is the latest step from the government to open up the country for tourism as the high season of December and January is coming up.

We certainly hope that the worst period is behind us and that we are rapidly moving ahead towards a situation where our beloved guests can travel again and visit our resort. We are certainly looking forward to receiving you again!
